Approach

Diagnosis, then strategy, then tactics.

Most marketing fails because it starts at tactics — buying activity before the position is understood. Every engagement runs the same three stages, in order.

Diagnosis

Good decisions start with a clear read of the business — how it's actually found, chosen, and lost — before anyone recommends what to do about it. Diagnosis is that first look: a channel audit, a funnel review, a read on the competitive and market position, done properly before a single tactic gets chosen.

That means a channel audit, a funnel review, a read on the competitive and market position — not to produce a deck, but to find the one or two places where the business is genuinely losing ground. Good diagnosis is often uncomfortable. If it just confirms what the founder already believed, it probably wasn't done properly.

The output isn't a wishlist. It's a plain, specific read on where the real leak is — the thing worth fixing first.

Strategy

Strategy is where to compete and what to say. Segmentation, positioning, the proposition, the objectives — the decisions everything downstream depends on, made explicit instead of assumed.

It's also the stage most often skipped, because it doesn't feel like "doing" marketing. But tactics without strategy is just noise with a budget behind it — activity that looks productive and doesn't move anything.

The output is a small set of clear choices, written down — specific enough that a founder could defend them to a board, a bank, or themselves at the end of a long week.

Tactics

Tactics is the visible part — campaigns, content, sales material, the things people actually see. It's built on the diagnosis and strategy that came before it, not a substitute for them.

The approach here leans on what actually grows brands, not what looks clever in a pitch: reach over depth, consistency over novelty, building the distinctive assets that make a business easy to recognise and easy to buy from. Little of it is original. Most of it is disciplined.

The output is work that compounds — each campaign making the next one easier, instead of starting from zero every quarter.

Let’s work out where the impact is.
